Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a modern and newly remodeled small animal hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead their established and growing three-doctor team. This hospital provides high-quality care with a strong focus on client education, exceptional service, and compassionate medicine. The facility is designed to support comprehensive general practice care, from wellness and preventive medicine to advanced diagnostics and surgery.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available to accommodate a range of schedules.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and mentorship to the veterinary team while maintaining a hands-on role in patient care. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing complex medical cases, and performing routine and advanced surgeries. The position requires a strong communicator with a passion for team development, collaboration, and high-quality medicine. This role is best suited for an experienced veterinarian eager to guide and support a dedicated clinical team in a progressive and well-equipped hospital.
Practice Details
The hospital features a fully equipped surgical suite and a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment tools. Equipment includes gas anesthesia machines, respiratory monitors, pulse oximeters, cardiac monitors, capnography, Bair Hugger warming systems, IV fluid support, and electrocoagulation for surgical precision. Advanced imaging capabilities include digital radiography (including dental), Butterfly ultrasound for point-of-care assessment, and access to certified ultrasound specialists for abdominal and cardiac studies read by board-certified radiologists and cardiologists. Surgical services include soft tissue, orthopedic, ophthalmic, and exploratory procedures. Additional offerings include preventive care, dentistry, spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and laser therapy.

The hospital is home to three DVMs supported by a highly trained and collaborative team of veterinary professionals. The environment promotes mentorship, teamwork, and open communication, ensuring an efficient and supportive workplace where both leadership and staff thrive.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
