Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian position. The hospital is a multi-specialty, emergency, and general practice providing comprehensive veterinary care for companion animals, and is seeking an experienced emergency clinician to deliver high-quality overnight care in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This role focuses on overnight emergency coverage and is available on a full-time or part-time basis. Specific overnight shift patterns, weekend rotations, and doctor hours are not further detailed beyond the hospital’s continuous operating schedule.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is open to experienced veterinarians only. Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive patient examinations and medical work-ups, emergency diagnostics, performing diagnostic procedures and surgery, and providing timely, compassionate emergency care. The veterinarian will communicate clearly with clients, maintain accurate and detailed medical records, and manage pharmacy duties in accordance with controlled substance protocols. Additional expectations include promoting teamwork and staff efficiency, collaborating with hospital leadership on priorities, monitoring hospitalized cases, attending rounds when possible, evaluating daily hospital protocols from intake through discharge, participating in training and practice management updates, and supporting overall hospital operations as needed.

Practice Details
The hospital is a full-service specialty and emergency facility offering general practice, surgical services, and 24/7 emergency care. Services provided include routine exams and vaccinations, preventive care, dental care ranging from cleanings to surgery, geriatric care, elective and non-elective surgery, and comprehensive emergency services. The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and modern medical technology, supporting efficient, high-quality patient care. Team
The hospital is currently supported by 7 DVMs and a strong support team, fostering a collaborative and well-supported overnight working environment focused on teamwork and high clinical standards.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
