Our client is a hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. Caring primarily for dogs and cats, with some exotic patients, this specialty and emergency hospital provides access to advanced medical resources, a high-acuity caseload, and a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional emergency and critical care. This opportunity is suited to experienced veterinarians seeking to practice emergency medicine alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will manage a diverse and high-acuity emergency caseload, providing urgent and critical care for companion animals. You will work closely with specialists across Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Oncology to ensure patients receive comprehensive treatment and continuity of care. Responsibilities include emergency assessment, diagnosis, stabilisation, treatment planning, critical care management, client communication, and collaboration with referral services. The role also offers opportunities to participate in case discussions, rounds, and collaborative learning within a teaching hospital environment. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only.

Practice Details
This Level 1 Trauma Center provides emergency and specialty veterinary services with access to extensive on-site resources and advanced diagnostic capabilities. Equipment includes a 128-slice CT scanner, 1.5T MRI, multiple ultrasound units including dedicated ICU ultrasound, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Services include emergency and critical care, aggressive analgesia, cardiac output monitoring, central venous pressure monitoring, continuous ECG monitoring and telemetry, direct blood pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilation, nasal and transtracheal oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry and end tidal capnography, and transfusion therapy. The hospital operates 24 hours a day and maintains a strong culture of collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning through rounds, case discussions, and interdisciplinary teamwork. Additional support is provided through an experienced emergency team, including credentialed technicians and an ECC VTS, as well as a dedicated social worker supporting patients, clients, and care teams.

The hospital is staffed by 17 veterinarians and a great tenured support team. The environment is highly collaborative, with real-time access to specialty clinicians, experienced emergency technicians, and a strong focus on mentorship, professional development, and exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
