Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their full-service specialty and emergency facility. This hospital focuses on small companion animals and is looking for a veterinarian to provide high-quality emergency and critical care within a well-supported, multi-disciplinary environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with additional flexibility for relief work, allowing for a range of scheduling options within a continuous care setting.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role focuses on providing emergency and critical care for small animal patients, managing a wide range of urgent and complex medical cases. Responsibilities include emergency triage, diagnostics, treatment planning, and collaboration with specialist teams across disciplines such as internal medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, and critical care. The position supports practicing high-level medicine with access to advanced diagnostics and surgical capabilities. The role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with structured mentorship available.

Practice Details
The hospital is a large, well-equipped specialty and emergency facility featuring 15 exam rooms, three surgical suites, an in-house pharmacy, and laboratory. Advanced equipment includes CT, cone beam CT, digital radiology, multiple ultrasound units, endoscopy and related scopes, fluoroscopy, and surgical tools such as Ligasure. The practice follows Fear Free and hands-free radiology protocols and supports a high standard of care through collaboration with a wide range of specialists. Services span emergency and critical care, advanced diagnostics, internal medicine, surgery, and specialty procedures, supported by a strong infrastructure and access to continued education and professional development resources.

Team
The team consists of 25 DVMs, including experienced emergency veterinarians and specialists, supported by a highly skilled veterinary team. The environment is collaborative and multidisciplinary, with a strong focus on teamwork, mentorship, and delivering advanced patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
