Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing continuous emergency and critical care coverage. This role offers both full-time and part-time options, with a variety of shifts available, including day, swing, and overnight rotations. Overnight shift rotations are a required part of the schedule. The leadership team is highly supportive of work-life balance, offering flexible scheduling designed to meet the needs of both the individual and the team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you’ll provide immediate and expert medical attention to patients requiring urgent or critical care. Clinical responsibilities include emergency stabilization, diagnostics, surgery, hospitalization, and end-of-life care. You’ll work closely with a team of experienced doctors, credentialed technicians, and support staff who prioritize teamwork and accountability. The role is open to both experienced veterinarians and early career DVMs seeking mentorship, with a structured training program and access to professional development resources. Visiting specialists provide echocardiography and advanced ultrasound services to support complex cases.

Practice Details
The hospital is a modern, well-equipped facility featuring advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, including in-house laboratory, digital imaging, surgical suite, and hospitalization areas. The hospital is supported by a nearby general practice sister clinic (a 6-doctor, fully staffed hospital located 20 minutes away), allowing for seamless collaboration and continuity of care. With 25 credentialed technicians across both locations, the hospital maintains a strong support infrastructure that enables veterinarians to focus on delivering top-tier medicine. The practice culture is fast-paced, collaborative, and learning-driven, with a deep commitment to professional growth, wellbeing, and teamwork.

Team
You’ll join a team of five emergency veterinarians supported by an experienced and dedicated group of technicians, assistants, and client service representatives. The practice also benefits from a tenured ER Practice Manager and a highly skilled nursing team. The environment encourages open communication, shared learning, and mentorship, creating an ideal setting for both seasoned emergency clinicians and those looking to expand their ER experience.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
