Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian or Critical Care Veterinarian to join their rapidly growing, fast-paced emergency and specialty environment. They provide 24/7 services to small animal patients and handle walk-in emergencies as well as referral cases. The species seen at the hospital are small animals.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital provides emergency and critical care services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The position is open to full-time applicants, with a focus on individuals ready to join a continuously operating emergency and critical care team.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The role includes delivering emergency and critical care services with responsibilities that may include emergency surgery, internal medicine support in collaboration with specialists, and managing a variety of urgent and complex cases. The veterinarian in this position is expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a positive and detail-oriented approach, and the ability to treat clients and patients with kindness and understanding. This position is suited to individuals who are knowledgeable, eager, and dedicated, with a passion for emergency and critical care. The brief does not specify requirements for new graduates or experienced-only applicants.
Practice Details
The hospital operates from a state-of-the-art facility with a focus on a positive, inclusive, educational culture and offers a large, fully equipped multi-unit ICU with a separate isolation room and a cat-only room. Internal medicine services are available six days a week for consultation and support. Equipment includes digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, mobile CT availability, an O2 generator and cages, and a fully equipped surgical suite with an anesthetic ventilator. Services provided include emergency and critical care support, walk-in emergency coverage, and referral-based emergency services, all within a culture built around kindness, motivation, professional growth, and teamwork.
Team
The hospital has three ER veterinarians, two critical care DVMs, and three internists. The environment is described as team-focused, kind-hearted, dedicated, and motivated, providing support for both patient care and professional development.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
