Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian. This is a comprehensive, advanced care emergency and specialty hospital providing 24/7/365 emergency and critical care services, along with specialty support in internal medicine, surgery, neurology and cardiology for dogs and cats.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day. Full-time and part-time availability are offered.

Role Description and Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include managing emergency and critical care cases for dogs and cats within a busy, advanced care environment. Responsibilities include aggressive analgesia, central venous pressure monitoring, continuous ECG monitoring and telemetry, direct blood pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilation, nasal and transtracheal oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry and end tidal capnography and transfusion therapy. The role involves working collaboratively within a multi-specialty team that also supports surgery, internal medicine, neurology, cardiology and diagnostic imaging.

Practice Details
The hospital is a 7,500-square-foot facility equipped with six exam rooms, two surgical suites and a large treatment room. Equipment includes anesthetic and mechanical ventilators, diagnostic and portable ultrasounds, oxygen cages and endoscopy towers, digital radiography and fluoroscopy using a portable C-arm. Advanced imaging such as CT, MRI and scintigraphy is available next door. Additional onsite capabilities include ultrasonography, digital radiology, CT scan, fluoroscopy, video endoscopy, laparoscopy, an in-house veterinary laboratory and an on-site pharmacy. The hospital operates multiple departments including cardiology, counseling, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, interventional radiology and surgery.

Team
The hospital has 10 DVMs and 25 support staff, including 9 Registered Veterinary Technicians. The team includes skilled professionals, veterinary assistants and specialists who collaborate within a supportive environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
