Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an emergency hospital seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides care for dogs and cats and is looking for an experienced veterinarian to support a 24/7 emergency service.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for comprehensive patient exams, medical work-ups, diagnostic procedures, and emergency surgery where required. The role includes client communication and education, maintaining accurate medical records, and managing pharmacy duties in line with protocols. Additional responsibilities involve collaborating with the team to promote efficiency, participating in daily rounds and case discussions, and supporting hospital protocols to ensure the highest standards of emergency care. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is a fully equipped emergency facility featuring advanced technology including a Snyder O2 unit, digital and portable x-ray, rigid endoscopy, ultrasound, and a fully remodeled Idexx laboratory. The facility includes two fully equipped operating rooms, five exam rooms, and dedicated training and skills lab space within an 8,500 sq. ft. hospital. Services include 24/7 emergency care, diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal exams, oxygen therapy, and medical boarding. The practice emphasizes a collaborative, team-based approach with daily rounding and consultations to support high-level, compassionate emergency medicine.
Team
The team consists of 5 DVMs supported by a tenured support team, fostering a collaborative environment with a strong focus on teamwork, case discussion, and professional development.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
