Introduction
For an experienced Emergency Veterinarian who enjoys having the space, equipment and support to manage challenging cases throughout the night, this 24/7 Emergency hospital in Turlock, California is looking to welcome a part-time Overnight Emergency Veterinarian. Providing round-the-clock Emergency care for dogs and cats, the hospital operates from a large purpose-built facility with 24-hour support staff and a strong range of diagnostic, surgical and critical care resources. It’s an opportunity to work within a genuinely Emergency-focused environment where collaboration and high-level medicine are central to the way the hospital operates.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of Emergency Veterinarian responsibilities, with responsibility for assessing and stabilizing incoming patients, performing medical work-ups and diagnostic procedures, developing treatment plans and managing hospitalized cases throughout the overnight period. You’ll have the clinical resources to work through challenging presentations while collaborating closely with experienced veterinarians, technicians and support staff, with daily rounding and consultation forming an important part of the hospital’s approach to cases. Surgery also forms part of the position where appropriate, alongside clear communication with owners and accurate management of cases from intake through to discharge or transfer of care. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian, with at least one year of Emergency practice experience required alongside strong diagnostic and clinical skills.

Practice Details
The hospital provides 24/7 Emergency Care, 365 days a year from an approximately 8,500 sq. ft. facility, with five exam rooms, two fully equipped operating rooms and dedicated training facilities. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, a Snyder O2 Unit, Digital Radiography, Portable Radiography, Ultrasound, Rigid Endoscopy and a fully remodeled IDEXX In-House Laboratory, giving the team a strong setup for rapidly investigating and treating Emergency presentations. The facility also includes a dedicated Skills Lab and training classroom, supporting continued clinical education within the hospital. Emergency services operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with overnight medical boarding also available for patients requiring additional care.

Team
You’ll be working alongside an experienced Emergency veterinary team with 24-hour technician and support staff coverage, giving you clinical support around you even during overnight shifts. There’s a genuinely collaborative approach to more challenging cases, with regular rounding and consultation between veterinarians encouraged rather than doctors simply working through cases in isolation. The hospital also has dedicated training facilities and places a strong emphasis on continued education, giving you the opportunity to keep developing your Emergency skills while sharing knowledge with the people around you and contributing to a high-level Emergency service.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
