Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing emergency veterinary care and is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. This well-equipped facility delivers high-level, compassionate care in a collaborative environment focused on managing complex and urgent cases.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The role is open to full-time or part-time applicants, with shifts structured around emergency coverage, including evenings and weekends.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will perform comprehensive patient exams, diagnostics, and medical work-ups while managing urgent and critical cases. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic procedures and surgery, prescribing medications, maintaining accurate medical records, and communicating clearly with clients. The role also involves monitoring hospitalized cases, participating in daily rounds, collaborating with the veterinary team, and supporting hospital protocols and workflow from intake to discharge. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
Practice Details
This is an emergency veterinary hospital operating from an 8,500 sq. ft. facility equipped with advanced technology including a Snyder O2 unit, digital and portable x-ray, rigid endoscope, ultrasound, two fully equipped operating rooms, five exam rooms, and a fully remodeled Idexx laboratory. Additional features include a skills lab and training classroom, supporting ongoing education and development. The hospital emphasizes a team-based approach with daily rounds and consultations, enabling collaboration on complex cases and delivery of high-quality emergency care.
Team
The team consists of 3 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a collaborative and supportive working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
