Introduction
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join a well-established referral and emergency hospital serving the Portland metro area of Oregon. The role is suited to a clinician who is confident managing emergency and critical cases and who values practising evidence-based medicine within a supportive, collaborative environment. Working Hours / Rota
This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with scheduling designed to support emergency coverage while remaining sustainable for clinicians. The rota is structured collaboratively, allowing flexibility while ensuring consistent standards of care and appropriate clinical support across shifts.

Role Description and Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage a diverse emergency caseload, providing rapid assessment, diagnostics, stabilisation, and treatment for patients presenting with urgent and critical conditions. You will perform diagnostic procedures and emergency surgery as required, communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, and contribute to daily rounds and case discussions to ensure the highest clinical standards are upheld. The role also involves working closely with hospital leadership and colleagues to support smooth clinical operations and continuous improvement.

Practice Details
The hospital is a modern emergency and referral facility focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for dogs and cats. Clinical capabilities are supported by advanced equipment including CT, endoscopy, arthroscopy, high-spec ultrasound with a dedicated imaging suite, and digital radiography, alongside multiple surgical theatres. The hospital works closely with nearby referral partners to ensure comprehensive patient care and is designed to support efficient workflows, clinical excellence, and strong collaboration across disciplines.

Team
You will be joining a dedicated team of four veterinarians, supported by experienced technicians and support staff. The culture is collaborative, professional, and patient-focused, with leadership committed to improving team support, training, and scheduling. This environment allows emergency clinicians to feel supported, heard, and empowered to deliver consistently high standards of care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
