Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Emergency Veterinarian to join their established and highly specialized team in Springfield, VA. This 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital supports cases from across the Mid-Atlantic region and is looking to add an experienced emergency clinician to their growing emergency department.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule offering a unique rotation, working just two weeks out of every six, with seven consecutive days off between shift blocks. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing continuous emergency care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is open to experienced emergency veterinarians. The position involves providing critical and emergency care to dogs and cats, managing both medical and surgical cases. Emergency clinicians are supported by a team of trained staff and senior doctors, including a Board-Certified Criticalist. Triage and treatment are prioritized based on patient need, with an emphasis on rapid assessment, client communication, and collaborative decision-making.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including ultrasound, digital radiography, CT, MRI, a linear accelerator, and an in-house laboratory for immediate patient analytics. Services offered include cardiology, emergency/critical care, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, neurology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, and physical rehabilitation. The hospital also features an I-131 treatment center for radioactive iodine therapy. The clinical culture is one of high-level medicine, fast-paced decision-making, and strong interdepartmental collaboration.

Team
The hospital is staffed by 27 DVMs and a comprehensive support team. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with mentorship from senior doctors and oversight from a dedicated hospital manager focused on team well-being.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
