Introduction
This advanced 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its established team. The hospital provides round-the-clock emergency and critical care alongside specialist services in cardiology, critical care, oncology, radiology and surgery, creating a highly collaborative environment for managing complex cases. The emergency team currently includes seven veterinarians, with direct access to specialists across multiple disciplines.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing continuous emergency and specialty care. Specific shift patterns for this position have not been provided, with the Emergency Veterinarian joining an established seven-doctor emergency team supporting the hospital’s round-the-clock caseload.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you’ll assess, stabilise and manage a varied caseload of urgent and critically ill patients, working closely with experienced emergency doctors, specialists and the wider clinical team. The multidisciplinary environment provides opportunities for collaborative management of complex cases, with access to specialist input across cardiology, critical care, oncology, radiology and surgery. You’ll be responsible for developing diagnostic and treatment plans, communicating clearly with pet owners and coordinating patient care across departments when specialist involvement or ongoing hospitalisation is required.

The hospital is a 20,000-square-foot facility designed specifically for advanced emergency and specialty veterinary medicine, with modern diagnostic, treatment and surgical equipment supporting complex patient care. It provides 24/7 emergency and critical care alongside multiple specialist disciplines, with seven emergency veterinarians and specialists in cardiology, critical care, oncology, radiology and surgery. Having these services available within the same hospital supports close collaboration, internal consultation and continuity of care for patients requiring multidisciplinary treatment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
