Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a well-established 24/7 emergency and urgent care hospital just south of San Francisco hiring for an Emergency Veterinarian. For over 50 years, this hospital has provided comprehensive emergency and urgent care services for dogs, cats, rabbits, avian species, reptiles, and small mammals while maintaining strong relationships with local veterinarians for patient updates and follow-up care.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Role Description and Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include providing emergency and urgent care for dogs, cats, rabbits, avian species, reptiles, and small mammals. The role involves working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with opportunities to perform soft tissue surgeries based on the veterinarian’s level of expertise. The position is open to veterinarians with 2 or more years of emergency veterinary experience.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with digital radiography with telemedicine, ultrasound, a full in-house laboratory, and access to on-call specialists in surgery, ultrasound, neurology, and endoscopy or colonoscopy. The hospital environment is newly renovated with cutting-edge diagnostics and supports a caseload that includes emergency and urgent care for a wide range of species. The culture emphasizes trust, collaboration, mentorship, lifelong learning, and shared support among a long-standing team.
Team
The hospital is staffed by 8 DVMs and 16 support staff within a supportive and experienced team culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
