Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a specialty and emergency hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides care for dogs and cats and is open to both full-time and part-time applicants.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will manage urgent and critical cases, providing comprehensive patient exams, medical work-ups, and advanced emergency care. Responsibilities include stabilizing critically ill patients, performing diagnostic procedures, supporting emergency surgeries, and delivering compassionate client communication. The role also involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and contributing to a teaching environment through case discussions and clinical rounds. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is a large, remodeled 12,000 sq. ft. facility. It includes 3 operating rooms, 10 exam rooms, 4 treatment areas, a dedicated feline ward, centralized ICU, isolation ward with exterior access, and two x-ray suites. The hospital is equipped with advanced technology including a 16-slice CT scanner, 1.5T MRI, fluoroscopy, video endoscopy, telemetry EKG, in-house laboratory capabilities, multiple ultrasound machines, and high-flow oxygen therapy. Specialty services include emergency and critical care, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, radiology, and neurology. The practice also functions as a teaching facility with internship programs, clinical rotations, and regular educational rounds, supporting a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
Team
The team consists of 16 DVMs supported by a tenured support team, creating a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on advanced patient care and continuous learning.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
