Introduction
Our client is a 24-hour emergency and critical care hospital based in Roanoke, Virginia, seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their dedicated team. This well-established hospital has been serving the community for decades and is equipped to handle urgent and advanced cases, supported by both general emergency doctors and specialists.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This role is full-time and focused on emergency shifts, with scheduling designed to balance workload across the multi-doctor team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for managing urgent and critical cases, performing diagnostics, surgery, and treatment in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong clinical skills, teamwork, and communication, with a focus on delivering immediate and compassionate care to patients and their families. This position is best suited for experienced doctors who are confident in emergency medicine and surgery, although the hospital also provides professional development support and CE opportunities to help doctors continue to grow.

Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped with in-house diagnostics, advanced imaging, surgical suites, and continuous critical care monitoring. Services include emergency medicine, urgent care, critical care, diagnostics, and surgery. Team
The hospital has a team of seven emergency doctors and two specialty doctors, supported by experienced and compassionate veterinary technicians and staff. The team works collaboratively to deliver the highest standards of care and to foster a supportive and energizing work environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
