This opportunity is suitable for an experienced emergency clinician or a veterinarian looking to transition into emergency medicine within a supportive, specialist-led environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of Emergency Veterinarian responsibilities within a busy 24/7 emergency and specialty setting. You’ll assess and triage patients presenting with urgent and life-threatening conditions, stabilize critically ill or injured animals, perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, formulate and implement treatment plans, and manage emergency medical and surgical cases. The position also involves overseeing hospitalized and critical patients, monitoring their response to treatment, and communicating clearly and compassionately with owners throughout what can often be challenging circumstances. You’ll work closely with emergency clinicians, specialists, technicians, and support staff, with access to multidisciplinary expertise for complex cases requiring advanced or ongoing specialty management. The hospital welcomes experienced emergency veterinarians as well as veterinarians interested in transitioning into emergency medicine, with mentorship and collaborative specialist support available.

Practice Details
The hospital operates a 24/7/365 emergency service for dogs and cats, with patients accepted on a walk-in and triage basis, alongside specialty appointments available throughout the week. Its extensive specialty offering includes Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery, Dermatology, Behavioral Medicine, Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, and Reproduction services. Surgical capabilities encompass both soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, while the wider hospital also provides primary care services. The hospital supports advanced case management with diagnostic and treatment equipment including, but not limited to, on-site CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, an in-house clinical laboratory, advanced anesthesia monitoring, and a fully integrated electronic medical record system. Clinical infrastructure includes ICU and isolation capabilities, providing the resources required to manage complex emergency, critical, and specialty cases. The hospital is AAHA accredited and incorporates fear-free techniques into patient care. Emergency services operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, while specialty appointments are available daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Team
You’ll become part of an extensive multidisciplinary veterinary team encompassing emergency clinicians and specialists across areas including Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Behavioral Medicine, and Rehabilitation. The hospital’s emergency veterinarians work closely with its specialists, technicians, and wider support team, creating an environment where complex cases can benefit from collaborative discussion and multidisciplinary management. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
