Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an advanced emergency, specialty, and primary care hospital for small animals and exotics that is hiring an Emergency Veterinarian on either a full-time or part-time basis. This highly advanced referral center combines 24/7 emergency services with a broad range of specialty disciplines and primary care services, creating an environment where veterinarians have access to cutting-edge technology, multidisciplinary collaboration, and a diverse caseload of both routine and complex cases.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for providing the full scope of Veterinary ER responsibilities within a fast-paced and clinically advanced hospital environment. This role offers the opportunity to manage a wide variety of emergency and critical cases while collaborating closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver comprehensive patient care. The position will work swing and/or overnight shifts, supporting the hospital’s continuous emergency service. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is comfortable working within a high-level referral setting and is looking to further develop their emergency medicine skills alongside an experienced team of emergency and specialty clinicians.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital, which is also part of the FelineVMA, operates as a fully integrated emergency, specialty, and primary care facility open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to providing a full scope of emergency services, the hospital offers specialty services in Orthopedics, Advanced Dental Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, and Ophthalmology, while also maintaining a full-service primary care department. The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including but not limited to an 8-slice CT scanner, DR imaging, C-arm fluoroscopy, telemetry, laparoscopic, endoscopic, thoracoscopic, and lithotripsy equipment, Tonopen equipment, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory. These resources support the management of both routine and highly complex medical and surgical cases across multiple specialties. Facilities include Hands-Free Radiology safety standards, an Isolation Ward, In-Office Surgical Suite, In-House Pharmacy, and a dedicated Intensive Care Unit, allowing for seamless patient care from initial presentation through advanced diagnostics, treatment, and recovery. The hospital also provides Oxygen and Transfusion Therapy, further enhancing its ability to manage critical and emergency cases within a comprehensive referral setting.
Team
The hospital consists of 10 DVMs and offers the opportunity to work alongside other emergency veterinarians, specialists, and a Criticalist within a highly collaborative clinical environment. The medical team is supported by dedicated veterinary technicians and client service professionals who share a commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
