Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing care for cats and dogs and is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their Emergency and Specialty team. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available for an experienced veterinarian looking to work in a collaborative referral hospital committed to advanced veterinary medicine, clinical excellence, and outstanding patient outcomes.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide high-quality emergency and critical care for a diverse caseload within a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. Responsibilities include evaluating emergency patients, developing diagnostic and treatment plans, managing medical and surgical emergencies, collaborating with specialists across multiple disciplines, and delivering compassionate care to patients and clients. The successful candidate will communicate effectively with clients, referring veterinarians, and the clinical team while maintaining accurate medical records using EzyVet and Smart Flow. The role also includes participating in case discussions, continuing education, and working alongside specialists to ensure comprehensive, multidisciplinary patient care. This position is suited to an experienced Emergency Veterinarian.

This AAHA-accredited 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital has been serving Western New York for more than 30 years, providing advanced emergency, specialty, and referral services for cats and dogs. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic technology including digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT imaging, and comprehensive in-house laboratory services. Supported by a strong and expanding referral network, the hospital offers a collaborative environment where emergency clinicians and specialists work together to provide seamless patient care. Veterinary services include primary care and wellness, behaviour consultations, dental care, a blood donor program, senior pet care, anesthesiology, intensive care and hospitalization, advanced diagnostics and imaging, internal medicine, oncology, surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, and end-of-life services. The hospital promotes mentorship, collaboration, continuing education, and professional development while providing the resources and technology needed to deliver the highest standard of emergency and specialty care. The hospital is open 24 hours a day for emergency care.

Team
The hospital is supported by a collaborative team of 26 DVMs and a great tenured support team. Emergency veterinarians work alongside specialists, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, and experienced support staff in a multidisciplinary environment that values teamwork, communication, and exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
