Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing 24-hour emergency and multi-specialty veterinary care for dogs and cats in Norwalk, Connecticut. They are seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and offers a large and diverse emergency caseload within a state-of-the-art clinical environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will see and treat a variety of emergency cases while providing medical oversight for ICU, post-operative, and critical care patients across daytime, swing, or overnight shifts. Clinical responsibilities can include aggressive analgesia, central venous pressure monitoring, continuous ECG monitoring and telemetry, direct blood pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilation, nasal and transtracheal oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, end-tidal capnography, and transfusion therapy. This position is specifically for an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides Emergency & Critical Care alongside Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Surgery. The hospital features a state-of-the-art facility with resources to support emergency, ICU, post-operative, and critical care patients.

Team
The hospital has 14 DVMs and a great tenured support team, including highly trained technical staff who support the hospital’s large and diverse emergency caseload. The clinical environment includes specialists across multiple departments, alongside support from the Hospital Medical Director and Regional Medical Director.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
