Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their small animal emergency and specialty team. Established in 1986, the hospital provides comprehensive emergency and advanced specialty services within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a hospital that operates 24/7, providing continuous emergency care and specialty support.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian provides immediate medical care to patients presenting with urgent and life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities include triaging and stabilizing critical cases, performing comprehensive emergency examinations, developing rapid diagnostic and treatment plans, and managing trauma, toxin exposures, respiratory distress, shock, and other acute medical or surgical emergencies. The role involves performing emergency procedures and surgeries as indicated, initiating advanced life support, and determining when referral to specialty services is required. The Emergency Veterinarian works closely with other specialties within the hospital to ensure coordinated, comprehensive patient care, collaborating on complex cases and facilitating seamless transitions between departments. This position maintains accurate and thorough medical records, communicates clearly and compassionately with clients during high-stress situations, and upholds the highest standards of patient care, clinical judgment, and professional practice. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian.

Practice Details
The hospital offers advanced emergency services including MRI, CT, and ultrasound, supported by experienced emergency doctors, board-certified Criticalists, and a dedicated and compassionate support team. With over 50 doctors across 13 specialties, collaboration and continuous learning are part of everyday practice. Specialty services include anesthesia and pain management, behavior services, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology and diagnostic imaging, and surgery.

Team
The team includes 49 DVMs across multiple specialties supported by a very strong support staff structure. The environment is highly collaborative, with seamless interdepartmental communication and a shared commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
