This locally owned 24-hour emergency hospital in Missoula, Montana is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its experienced team. Serving Missoula and the surrounding communities since 2003, the hospital provides dedicated emergency and critical care for cats and dogs in a modern purpose-built facility completed in 2023. With a strong reputation for high-quality medicine, collaborative teamwork, and compassionate patient care, this is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking to practice emergency medicine in a supportive environment. The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with veterinarians rotating through day, overnight, and weekend shifts.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you’ll manage a varied caseload of urgent and critical companion animal cases, providing emergency consultations, diagnostics, medical management, surgery, and hospitalised patient care. You’ll work closely with experienced emergency veterinarians, highly skilled technicians, and dedicated support staff to deliver exceptional care while maintaining clear communication with clients during stressful situations. Shift-based scheduling offers flexibility, with total compensation reflecting the number of shifts worked, making the role well suited to veterinarians seeking a schedule that fits their lifestyle.

Practice Details
The hospital operates from a custom-built emergency facility that opened in 2023 and is equipped with everything needed to support advanced emergency and critical care. Facilities include an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, oxygen cages, ventilator support, blood transfusion capabilities, advanced surgical suites with comprehensive patient monitoring, and modern emergency equipment throughout. The practice places a strong emphasis on teamwork, efficient workflows, and high-quality medicine, ensuring doctors have the resources and clinical support needed to manage a diverse emergency caseload with confidence.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
