Introduction
A leading 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital in Mesa, Arizona is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its established team of 15 veterinarians, including experienced ER clinicians and board-certified specialists. This AAHA-accredited referral center is recognised for delivering advanced emergency and specialty care in a collaborative, high-performing environment. With access to cutting-edge technology and a strong clinical support structure, this role offers the opportunity to practice progressive emergency medicine while working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing continuous emergency and specialty services. Full-time is preferred, though part-time applicants will be considered. The schedule typically consists of 12 shifts per rotation period, with a mix of swing and overnight shifts available. Rotas are structured to ensure fair coverage while supporting sustainability within a demanding emergency setting.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will manage a diverse caseload of canine and feline emergency presentations, ranging from acute medical crises to traumatic injuries and complex stabilisation cases. Responsibilities include triage, diagnostic workups, emergency surgery when required, case management of hospitalised patients, and collaboration with specialty departments to ensure seamless continuity of care. You will work within clearly defined clinical standards while maintaining autonomy in medical decision-making. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will guide clients through urgent and emotionally charged situations with clarity and empathy, while also partnering closely with technicians, specialists, and fellow ER doctors.

Practice Details
This purpose-built referral and emergency centre is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including digital radiography, 64-slice CT, Logiq 9 ultrasound, 1.5T MRI, Storz video endoscopy, and C-arm fluoroscopy. The hospital follows hands-free radiology protocols and integrates fear-free techniques whenever possible to prioritise both patient and staff safety. With AAHA accreditation and an emphasis on world-class medicine, the facility supports comprehensive emergency and specialty services under one roof, allowing cases to be managed efficiently and collaboratively.

You will be part of a 15-doctor team comprising emergency veterinarians and board-certified specialists working within a collaborative referral environment. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
