Introduction
Our client is a privately owned, veterinarian-owned emergency and multi-specialty veterinary hospital seeking two internship-trained Emergency Veterinarians, with a particular need for doctors interested in overnight shifts. Caring for dogs and cats, the hospital provides 24/7/365 emergency and critical care alongside multiple specialty departments, allowing emergency clinicians to manage complex cases with direct access to specialist support. The practice places a strong emphasis on collaborative medicine, advanced patient care, and continuity between its Emergency, Critical Care, and specialty services.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide high-quality care to dogs and cats presenting with urgent illnesses, injuries, trauma, and potentially life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities include assessing and stabilising emergency patients, performing diagnostics, developing treatment plans, and managing hospitalised cases as appropriate. The caseload can include trauma, respiratory distress, collapse, seizures, toxin ingestion, significant bleeding, gastrointestinal and urinary emergencies, heatstroke, neurological emergencies, and other acute presentations. Emergency doctors work collaboratively with the Critical Care and specialty teams, providing access to advanced diagnostics and specialist consultation for complex cases. Internship training is required for this opportunity, with a particular need for veterinarians interested in overnight shifts.

Practice Details
Emergency and Critical Care services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
This state-of-the-art emergency and multi-specialty facility provides advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities under one roof. Clinical technology includes CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, and C-Arm/fluoroscopic imaging, supporting the investigation and management of complex emergency and specialty cases.
Services include 24/7 Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Cardiology, and Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine. The Emergency department works closely with these specialist teams, allowing complex patients to access advanced diagnostics, consultation, and specialist treatment within the same facility without requiring transfer to another hospital.

Team
Emergency Veterinarians work alongside board-certified and specialty-trained clinicians across multiple disciplines. The hospital places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and continuity of care, with Emergency, Critical Care, and specialty teams working together to support patients throughout diagnosis and treatment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
