Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital that is hiring a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join its advanced referral center, primary care, and teaching hospital with 24-hour emergency services. Caring for dogs and cats, this AAHA-accredited specialty facility offers an exceptional opportunity to work within one of the largest referral hospitals in the area, supported by advanced technology, multiple specialty departments, and a highly collaborative team environment. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and those seeking to further develop their emergency medicine skills within a teaching-focused setting.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will be responsible for the full scope of Veterinary Emergency responsibilities, managing a diverse caseload of urgent, emergent, and critical patients. Working alongside specialists across multiple disciplines, you will play a key role in the assessment, stabilization, diagnosis, and treatment of emergency cases while contributing to seamless patient care throughout the hospital. This position follows a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, consisting of a mix of day, swing, and night shifts, providing an attractive work-life balance while maintaining exposure to a varied emergency caseload. The role is open to both experienced veterinarians and those looking to further develop their emergency medicine expertise within a supportive referral environment.

Practice Details
Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this hospital serves as a leading referral, specialty, emergency, and teaching facility. As the largest specialty hospital in the area, the practice occupies an impressive 42,000-square-foot facility designed to support advanced veterinary medicine across a wide range of disciplines. The hospital is equipped with advanced technology including, but not limited to, MRI, CT, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and digital dental X-ray, allowing clinicians access to comprehensive diagnostic capabilities. Facilities include 19 examination rooms, 9 surgery suites, 2 medical procedure rooms, a dedicated oncology suite, a radiation oncology suite, a dedicated anesthesia technical department, an isolation ward, intensive care and critical care units, an in-office surgical suite, and an in-house pharmacy. The hospital is AAHA accredited and utilizes Fear Free techniques whenever possible. Specialty services include Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Cardiology, Dentistry, Oncology, and Anesthesia. Additional services include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Oxygen and Transfusion Therapy, creating an exceptionally diverse and rewarding caseload for emergency clinicians.
