Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Emergency Veterinarian. The hospital is a 24-hour referral and emergency facility providing advanced and specialty veterinary care. The role focuses on emergency medicine within a collaborative, multi-specialty environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing continuous emergency coverage. The position offers a flexible schedule with an average of 12 shifts per month. This role is offered on a full-time basis.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering advanced emergency and critical care, including comprehensive patient examinations, diagnostic work-ups, surgical procedures, and medical case management. Responsibilities include client communication and education, maintaining accurate medical records, prescribing medications in accordance with controlled substance protocols, and collaborating closely with clinical leadership and support teams. The role involves participating in daily rounds, supporting hospital protocols, and contributing to a high standard of emergency care. This position is intended for experienced emergency veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology including digital radiography, ultrasound, CT scanning with 3D HD imaging, fluoroscopy, cystoscopy, flexible and rigid endoscopy, interventional radiology, laparoscopy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, in-house laboratory services, and EKG capabilities. The facility supports a wide range of specialty and emergency services including internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, and oncology. The practice culture emphasizes individualized patient care, collaboration across specialties, and access to advanced medical resources.

Team
The team consists of nine DVMs across multiple specialties, supported by experienced technicians and a dedicated emergency team that provides after-hours coverage in a highly collaborative environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
