Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring a full-time or part-time Emergency Veterinarian to join a small animal emergency and critical care facility in Leesburg, Virginia. This AAHA-accredited emergency hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian to provide high-level emergency and critical care medicine within a collaborative specialty referral environment supported by advanced technology and an experienced emergency and ICU team.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will manage emergency and critical care cases involving dogs and cats while collaborating closely with specialty teams across multiple disciplines. Responsibilities include evaluating and stabilizing emergency patients, delivering life-saving treatments, managing critical care cases, and working alongside veterinary nurses trained in CPR and advanced life-saving skills. The role involves utilizing advanced monitoring and diagnostic tools while collaborating on complex referral cases within a multidisciplinary specialty center. This opportunity is best suited to an experienced emergency veterinarian looking to practice advanced emergency medicine in a highly supported and technology-driven environment.

Practice Details
This state-of-the-art emergency and critical care hospital operates within a nearly 30,000-square-foot specialty referral campus spanning two buildings. The emergency and ICU service serves as the central hub for all specialty services within the referral center. Partner specialty services include cardiology, dentistry and oral surgery, ophthalmology, surgery and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, and advanced imaging. The hospital is equipped with digital radiology, ultrasonography, MRI, CT, EEG, fluoroscopy, echocardiogram, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. Emergency and critical care services include aggressive analgesia, central venous pressure monitoring, continuous ECG monitoring and telemetry, direct blood pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, end tidal capnography, and transfusion therapy. The hospital is AAHA accredited and focused on delivering advanced emergency and specialty medicine. Operating hours are Monday from 6:00 am to 12:00 am, Tuesday through Thursday open 24 hours, Friday open 24 hours, and closed Saturday and Sunday.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
