Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing emergency veterinary care for dogs and cats in Knoxville and is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join the team. The practice is open to both full-time and part-time applicants and provides comprehensive overnight and weekend emergency care with a focus on high-quality medical and surgical treatment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will diagnose and treat canine and feline emergency cases, developing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with pet owners. Clinical responsibilities include emergency medicine, diagnostic workups, poison treatment, dermatology cases, and emergency surgery, including a variety of advanced soft tissue procedures. Veterinarians are supported in learning new surgical procedures and techniques, with Medical Director mentorship and an after-hours resource available when needed. Flexible scheduling is available to support work-life balance. This position is specifically for an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The hospital is dedicated exclusively to canine and feline emergencies and does not provide routine procedures. On-site diagnostic capabilities include an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and blood testing, supporting rapid assessment and treatment of emergency patients. The hospital is open 24 hours on Monday and Friday through Sunday, with overnight hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Tuesday through Thursday.
Team
The hospital currently has one DVM and a great tenured support team with extensive experience supporting emergency patient and client care. The clinical environment also provides access to Medical Director mentorship and an after-hours resource when additional support is required.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
