Introduction
Our client is a hospital serving the local community since 1947, hiring for a full-time Emergency Veterinarian. The clinic provides continuous care and is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join their emergency team.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This position involves the full scope of emergency room responsibilities, managing a diverse and dynamic caseload. The role requires an experienced veterinarian capable of handling urgent and critical cases across all aspects of emergency medicine.
Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, supporting a comprehensive emergency service. It is equipped with a fully staffed in-house laboratory performing routine chemistries, hemograms, parvo snap, FeLV/FIP snap, coagulation panels, and cytology daily. Additional diagnostic capabilities include blood gas, VetScan, and chemistry analysis units for after-hours or STAT testing. Doctors have easy access to ultrasound for aFAST and tFAST needs. The facility includes 18 anesthesia stations with advanced monitoring, two digital radiology suites, four operating tables, and four dental tables with digital dental radiography, as well as an on-site 64-slice CT scanner. The hospital is AAHA-accredited and has a Fear Free certified professional, offering a full scope of ER services. In addition to emergency care, it provides primary care and specialty services in dermatology, diagnostic imaging, critical care, internal medicine, and surgery.
Team
The team consists of 9 DVMs across multiple departments, supported by a strong group of tenured support staff. The environment includes a collaborative mix of veterinarians from general practice, emergency, and multiple specialties, including Diplomates in general practice (ABVP), dermatology (ACVD), cardiology (ACVIM cardiology), surgery (ACVS), oncology (ACVIM oncology), internal medicine (ACVIM), emergency critical care (ACVECC), and rehabilitation.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
