Introduction
Our client is a multi-specialty hospital seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital provides emergency, specialty, and critical care for dogs and cats in the greater Chicago area and operates within a state-of-the-art, 25,000-square-foot facility designed to deliver advanced medical services in a collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a hospital that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The schedule includes emergency and overnight coverage, as well as weekend shifts, to support both emergency patients and specialty cases requiring continuous care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will triage and manage emergency cases, continue the care of specialty patients during overnight and weekend hours, and provide accurate and compassionate client communication. Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, maintaining medical records, participating in morning rounds with specialists, and collaborating with referral partners. The role also emphasizes mentoring and supporting colleagues, support staff, and visiting veterinary students, while fostering a positive, Fear-Free workplace culture.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
