This is an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Veterinarian to join a VECCS Level II–certified, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital delivering advanced emergency and critical care in Garden City, Idaho, within the greater Boise area. The role is ideal for a veterinarian who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to practising high-quality emergency medicine with strong specialist support and excellent clinical infrastructure.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time emergency position within a hospital that provides continuous, round-the-clock care. The rota is structured to support sustainability and team coverage across a 24/7 service, with scheduling designed to balance clinical intensity and recovery time. Shift patterns are built to support long-term success in emergency medicine, with flexibility depending on experience and team needs.

Role Description and Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage a varied and high-acuity emergency caseload, providing rapid assessment, diagnostics, stabilisation, and treatment for patients presenting with urgent and critical conditions. You will work closely with emergency technicians, interns, and specialists to deliver comprehensive patient care and clear communication to clients and referring veterinarians. The position is well suited to both experienced emergency clinicians and veterinarians transitioning into emergency medicine, with structured mentorship and clinical support available for those new to ER.

Practice Details
The hospital is a multi-specialty and emergency referral centre providing 24/7 care for dogs and cats and is the only facility of its kind in the state. It holds VECCS Level II certification, reflecting a high standard of emergency and critical care capability. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and fully equipped arthroscopy and laparoscopy suites. A wide range of on-site specialties supports collaborative case management and comprehensive patient care across both emergency and referral services.

You will join a large, highly skilled team of emergency clinicians, rotating interns, specialists, certified technicians, assistants, and client care professionals. This multidisciplinary environment allows emergency veterinarians to practise at a high level while benefiting from immediate access to specialist insight and support.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
