Introduction
Our client is a highly regarded AAHA-accredited and VECCS Level II Certified emergency and primary care hospital located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. They are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join their dedicated and skilled team. This full-service facility provides both general practice and emergency services, ensuring comprehensive care for cats and dogs. With a strong commitment to excellence, the hospital is looking for a veterinarian who is passionate about emergency medicine and eager to provide exceptional patient care in a collaborative environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This position offers a unique schedule of daytime shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, allowing for an excellent work-life balance while still practicing high-quality medicine. Emergency services at the hospital are available 24/7 year-round, while primary care services operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The role is full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for delivering advanced medical care, with a focus on emergency and critical cases. Duties include performing physical examinations, developing treatment plans, conducting diagnostic testing, and providing a variety of surgical and medical procedures such as soft tissue surgery and ocular procedures. Preventive medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, and dermatology also form part of the caseload. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling complex cases and comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency setting. This position requires a minimum of five years of veterinary practice experience and a commitment to continuing professional development.

The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including in-house laboratories, digital radiography with dental capabilities, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and advanced monitoring systems. As an AAHA-accredited and VECCS Level II Certified practice, the hospital is committed to providing the highest standards of veterinary medicine. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
