Our client is an emergency veterinary hospital seeking a Full-Time veterinarian to join their Emergency Mentorship Program. Caring for cats and dogs, this structured programme is ideal for recent DVM graduates or GP veterinarians looking to transition into emergency medicine. Designed as a true mentorship programme rather than a sink-or-swim ER role, it provides the training, support, and hands-on experience needed to build confidence in emergency and surgical medicine.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This mentorship programme is designed for recent DVM graduates and GP veterinarians who are looking to transition into emergency medicine. Participants will receive structured training and one-on-one mentorship while developing the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence required to become successful emergency clinicians. The programme provides guided learning, real-time support, and progressive responsibility within a collaborative emergency environment, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience while learning from experienced emergency veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital provides 24-hour emergency and critical care services, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
This purpose-built emergency hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and emergency medical technology to support high-quality emergency and critical care for dogs and cats. Veterinarians have access to a comprehensive on-site laboratory for rapid blood work and diagnostic testing, digital radiography (X-ray), ultrasound, electrocardiography (ECG), blood pressure monitoring, advanced anaesthesia monitoring equipment, and intensive care capabilities. These resources enable the team to rapidly diagnose and stabilise patients while providing advanced medical and surgical care for urgent and life-threatening conditions.
Serving the Solano and Napa communities since 1985, the facility features dedicated emergency and critical care treatment areas, an intensive care unit, advanced surgical facilities, an on-site laboratory, diagnostic imaging capabilities, and continuous patient monitoring areas, allowing the team to manage a broad range of emergency and critical cases around the clock.
Emergency and critical care services are provided exclusively for dogs and cats, offering a diverse emergency caseload. Services include emergency medicine, intensive care, emergency surgery, anaesthesia, pain management, in-house diagnostics, blood testing, diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, electrocardiography (ECG), patient stabilisation, continuous monitoring, and the ongoing management of urgent and life-threatening medical conditions. The hospital also accepts referrals from primary care veterinarians requiring emergency or intensive care support.
The mentorship programme includes structured one-on-one mentoring, weekly case review meetings, guided emergency case management with real-time support, soft tissue emergency surgery training covering procedures such as GDVs, C-sections, exploratory surgeries, and wound management, as well as regular topic rounds and case discussions to strengthen critical thinking and medical decision-making.

The hospital is supported by a multidisciplinary team of specialists who work collaboratively to provide advanced emergency and critical care. Participants in the mentorship programme will work alongside experienced emergency veterinarians and a dedicated support team in a highly collaborative environment focused on learning, professional development, and delivering exceptional patient care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
