Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital looking to hire an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian on either a full-time or part-time basis. Established in Northern Virginia in 1995, this multi-specialty and emergency hospital provides advanced care for cats and dogs within a collaborative referral environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced emergency clinician to join a highly respected hospital delivering around-the-clock emergency and specialty services.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of Emergency Veterinarian responsibilities, managing a diverse overnight emergency caseload while working alongside specialists across multiple disciplines to provide exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, stabilising, and treating emergency cases, performing emergency procedures where required, and collaborating closely with the wider clinical team to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Specific working hours will be discussed. The practice is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian who thrives in a fast-paced referral environment and is committed to delivering outstanding emergency medicine.
Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing continuous emergency care alongside an extensive range of specialty services. Specialists are available in Surgery, Medical and Radiation Oncology (including linear accelerator and I131 therapies), Neurology and Neurosurgery, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Ophthalmology, and Physical Therapy, allowing for comprehensive, multidisciplinary patient care. The practice is equipped with, but not limited to, a 3D Spiral CT, Digital Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, C-arm, MRI, rapid in-house laboratory machines for CBC, chemistry, electrolyte and coagulation testing, and an In-House Antech Laboratory. Facilities include 24 exam rooms, five surgical suites connected by an enclosed sterile corridor, and complex anesthetic monitoring equipment, providing clinicians with the advanced resources needed to confidently manage a broad range of emergency and referral cases.

You will be joining a team of 34 DVMs within a supportive, multi-specialty environment, alongside dedicated veterinary technicians and client service professionals who share a commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care. Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
