Introduction
Our client is an emergency hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their team, providing care for dogs, cats, and exotics. This role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis within a long-established and highly collaborative emergency practice.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will manage a diverse caseload of urgent and critical cases, delivering comprehensive patient exams, diagnostics, emergency treatment, and surgical care. Responsibilities include stabilizing critically ill patients, performing emergency procedures, utilizing diagnostic imaging, and providing ongoing hospitalization and monitoring. The role also involves clear and compassionate client communication, collaboration with technicians and fellow veterinarians, and contributing to a strong team-oriented environment. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian, though mentorship is available for new graduates seeking to develop in emergency medicine.
Practice Details
This well-established emergency hospital operates 24/7/365 and handles a wide range of emergency and critical care cases for small animals and exotics. The facility is equipped with digital radiology, an in-house laboratory, ICU and Snyder ICU, isolation ward, diagnostic ultrasound, and a full surgical suite including a Force Triad vessel sealer and electrocautery unit. Services offered include emergency care, surgery, hospitalization, imaging and ultrasound, end-of-life care, isolation care, blood and plasma transfusions, and exotic emergency services, as well as acupuncture for pain management and recovery. The hospital offers flexible shift configurations and emphasizes a collaborative, supportive culture with a strong focus on mentorship, professional growth, and high-quality patient care.
Team
The team consists of 4 DVMs and a great tenured support team, with a high technician-to-doctor ratio, fostering a collaborative, supportive, and team-focused working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
