Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking to hire an Emergency Veterinarian to join their ER and specialty team, serving cats and dogs within a 24/7 emergency care environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, and the Emergency Veterinarian role offers flexibility for either full-time or part-time scheduling. Three different scheduling options have been created, which will be discussed during the interview process to find a schedule that meets the needs of the hospital and the emergency team while maintaining a strong quality of life by minimizing burnout risk.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will handle full ER veterinarian responsibilities, with the hospital striving for the highest level of triage care in DFW. Doctors will have the ability to transfer appropriate cases to the specialty departments the following day while serving all emergency cases, from routine ER to critical ailments. ER doctors will also have the opportunity to perform a variety of emergent surgical procedures, supported by three board-certified surgeons. This role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Practice Details
The hospital is a brand-new, state-of-the-art, 25,000 sq ft ER/Specialty facility equipped with the latest veterinary technology, including two digital radiography suites, 64-slice CT, MRI, a Varian TrueBeam Edge radiation machine, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, digital cytology, an interventional surgical suite, multiple ultrasounds, and the only hemoperfusion unit in DFW.
Team
The team includes a huge team of DVMs within a well-established group of skilled professionals and veterinary specialists, including 6 Oncologists, 4 Internal Medicine Specialists, 2 Cardiologists, 1 Neurologist, 3 Surgeons, and 3 Criticalists.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
