Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary hospital with a dedicated emergency department, seeking an Overnight Emergency Veterinarian to join their team, offering either full-time or part-time opportunities working with dogs and cats.
Role Description and Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide emergency and critical care services overnight, managing a wide range of urgent and complex cases. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient exams, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, as well as developing and executing treatment plans. You will maintain accurate medical records, prescribe medications, and ensure continuity of care through effective case management and communication with clients and the daytime team. The role also involves collaborating with the wider hospital team, participating in rounds, and supporting efficient workflow from intake to discharge. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian.
Practice Details
The hospital operates 24/7, providing both general practice and emergency services, with overnight emergency care available seven days a week. The facility offers a broad range of services including dental care, internal medicine, emergency and end-of-life care, geriatrics, surgical services, spay and neuter procedures, as well as integrative treatments such as acupuncture, stem cell therapy, and regenerative therapy. The practice has built a strong reputation over more than 30 years for delivering high-quality, compassionate care within the community and recently expanded with a brand-new emergency department in a state-of-the-art facility. The team consists of 8 DVMs and a great tenured support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
