Job Description
Introduction
This AAHA-accredited hybrid general practice and 24/7 emergency hospital in Corvallis, Oregon is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its team of seven doctors. Combining primary care with round-the-clock emergency services, the hospital offers a varied and rewarding caseload supported by advanced equipment and an experienced clinical team. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, this is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking to develop their emergency and surgical skills within a collaborative environment.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you’ll manage emergency consultations, hospitalised patients, trauma cases, and urgent surgical procedures while working closely with dedicated emergency and ICU technicians. You’ll perform diagnostics, develop treatment plans, carry out a wide range of soft tissue surgeries, communicate with clients, and collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless patient care. Emergency veterinarians rotate through day, swing, and overnight shifts, averaging 10 to 14 shifts per month, with opportunities to further develop emergency and surgical expertise.
Practice Details
This full-service hospital combines general practice with a busy 24/7 emergency service, providing access to an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, Snyder oxygen cage, blood products, therapy laser, CO₂ laser, and Cornerstone medical records. The hospital also offers access to an orthopaedic surgeon for advanced procedures and maintains a strong 3:1 support staff-to-doctor ratio, including dedicated emergency and ICU technicians, ensuring excellent support for complex emergency cases.
Team
You’ll join a collaborative team of seven veterinarians supported by experienced emergency technicians, ICU technicians, and skilled support staff. The hospital promotes teamwork, mentorship, and a healthy work-life balance while delivering exceptional emergency and general practice care to the local community.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
