Job Description
Introduction
A new state-of-the-art veterinary hospital is opening in Boise, Idaho in December 2025 and is seeking a skilled Emergency Veterinarian to join its dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice progressive emergency medicine in a supportive, collaborative environment with access to advanced diagnostics and treatment options.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital will be open seven days a week to provide emergency and general veterinary services. Full-time schedules will be flexible, typically 11–13 shifts per month, including an equitable share of days, evenings, and weekends. Schedules are designed to promote a healthy work-life balance, with regular extended breaks built in.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide expert care in urgent and emergency cases, including triage, stabilization, advanced diagnostics, and surgery. Responsibilities include conducting emergency exams, developing and executing treatment plans, and collaborating with the medical team to ensure the highest standard of care. Doctors are encouraged to pursue their areas of clinical interest, with mentorship and professional development opportunities available.
Practice Details
This modern freestanding hospital will feature advanced medical equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, high-flow oxygen therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and 3D CT imaging. Spacious treatment areas and a fully equipped ICU are designed to support emergency and critical care cases while ensuring efficiency and patient comfort.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
