Our client is a full-service small animal hospital in Berkeley seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join their established team. With over a century of providing trusted veterinary care, the hospital is AAHA-accredited and offers both general practice and 24/7 emergency services. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open seven days a week, with 24/7 urgent and emergency care available. This full-time Emergency Veterinarian role will include overnight, evening, and weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule to ensure continuous patient coverage. The structure provides a dynamic and engaging caseload while maintaining work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide urgent and emergency care to cats and dogs, performing diagnostics, triage, treatment, and stabilization of critical patients. Responsibilities include surgical and medical management of emergency cases, monitoring hospitalized patients, and collaborating with the hospital’s specialty veterinarians to provide comprehensive treatment plans. This position is best suited for an experienced veterinarian with a strong background in emergency medicine and a passion for delivering compassionate, client-focused care in high-pressure situations.

This AAHA-accredited hospital offers an extensive range of services, including preventive care, dentistry, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging, and emergency medicine. Facilities include advanced diagnostic technology such as digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, CT scans, and surgical lasers, ensuring accurate diagnoses and comprehensive treatment. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
