Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for an Emergency Veterinarian. This is a 24/7 small animal emergency hospital providing advanced medical care for dogs and cats. The hospital is AAHA accredited and serves as the only 24-hour emergency facility in the area, offering a wide variety of complex and urgent cases.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day. Opportunities are available for full-time, part-time, and rotating schedules, including overnights, swing shifts, and weekends. Flexibility is available depending on scheduling needs.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is open to experienced veterinarians. The Emergency Veterinarian will provide comprehensive emergency care including patient exams and medical work-ups, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, hospitalization, and intensive care management. Responsibilities include performing general and routine surgeries, managing emergency cases, utilizing advanced diagnostics, maintaining accurate medical records, prescribing medications, and collaborating with the hospital leadership and support teams. The role involves working with urgent and critical cases in a fast-paced environment while delivering high standards of emergency and critical care medicine.

Practice Details
This AAHA accredited hospital has been operating since 1929 and features 7 exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, a dedicated dental suite, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, ultrasound, ligasure, Tonopen, 2 oxygen chambers, an isolation ward, in-house laboratory, in-house pharmacy, intensive care capabilities, sevoflurane anesthesia, and boarding services. Hands-free radiology is strongly encouraged. The hospital also hosts visiting board-certified cardiologists, criticalists, and dermatologists monthly. Services include emergency care, full diagnostics, internal medicine, anesthesia, pain management, general surgery, routine surgeries, spays and neuters, dental care, hospitalization, preventive care, geriatric medicine, hospice care, and pet loss support.

Team
The hospital has 11 DVMs and a great tenured support team, including a large group of veterinary assistants, registered veterinary technicians, receptionists, kennel assistants, pharmacy support, janitorial staff, and management. The culture is collaborative, team-oriented, and focused on delivering world-class emergency care.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
