Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing 24/7 emergency veterinary care and is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. This long-established, AAHA-accredited hospital delivers comprehensive emergency and advanced care for companion animals, supported by a large and highly experienced team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with rotating schedules including overnights, swing shifts, and weekends.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide urgent and critical care for canine and feline patients, including performing emergency diagnostics, surgery, and medical treatments. Responsibilities include managing a high and varied caseload, delivering effective client communication, and collaborating with a large clinical team to ensure the highest standards of care. The role also involves working alongside visiting specialists and maintaining accurate medical records. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian, though mentorship is available.

Practice Details
This is an AAHA accredited hospital that has been in operation since 1929 and serves as the only 24/7 emergency hospital in the area, providing exposure to a diverse and high-volume caseload. The facility includes 7 exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, dental suite, overnight sleeping room, and boarding services, and is equipped with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, ligasure, oxygen chambers, and in-house laboratory capabilities. The hospital also benefits from visiting board-certified specialists in cardiology, critical care, and dermatology, supporting advanced case management across emergency and specialty services.

Team
The team consists of 11 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, including a large group of veterinary assistants, registered technicians, and support staff, creating a highly collaborative and well-supported working environment.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
