Introduction
This AAHA accredited, privately owned 24 hour general practice and emergency hospital in Aurora, Colorado is hiring for an Emergency Veterinarian to join their overnight team. Established in 1985, the hospital is known for its collaborative culture, long-standing team, and strong focus on work life balance. As the only 24/7 emergency hospital in Aurora, this is a unique opportunity to work in a progressive and well-equipped environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role is focused on overnight emergency care, managing both incoming urgent and emergent cases as well as in-hospital transfers. The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for patient assessment, diagnostics, treatment, and performing both minor and major surgeries where appropriate, with the option to transfer cases to a daytime surgeon. The position suits a veterinarian who is calm under pressure and enjoys emergency medicine in a fast-paced setting. Shifts run from 7pm to 7am, with full-time benefits based on approximately 30 hours per week, typically averaging seven shifts every two weeks, with flexibility in scheduling and the ability to trade shifts. Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered.

Practice Details
The hospital is spacious, modern, and very well equipped, supporting a high standard of emergency and general practice care. Equipment includes digital radiology with radiologist interpretation, laparoscopy and endoscopy, ultrasound, monitoring equipment, and oxygen cages. The practice also works closely with visiting specialists including ultrasound and cardiology, and offers the ability to perform orthopedic surgeries in-house. The hospital provides both general practice and emergency services and promotes a progressive approach to medicine within a flexible and positive working environment.

Team
The team consists of eight veterinarians, including three dedicated to emergency and one working a hybrid GP and ER role, with plans to grow further. The overnight team is supported by a technician, assistant, and swing technician. The hospital is known for its exceptional staff retention, with technicians staying for over ten years, and a culture built on genuine friendships, collaboration, and long-term team stability.
