Introduction
Our client is a locally and family-owned veterinary hospital offering a full-time Hybrid Veterinary Internship for veterinarians looking to develop their clinical experience within a 24/7 hospital environment. Providing care for cats and dogs, the hospital has been serving its community for 50 years and offers flexible start dates for the internship.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The internship provides structured exposure across emergency medicine, surgery, general practice, overnight care, and shelter medicine. The program begins with a six-week orientation designed to introduce you to the hospital and its different areas of medicine, while also incorporating dedicated CE time. The remainder of the internship will provide experience across different areas of the hospital, allowing you to develop your clinical skills across a varied caseload. As part of the internship, you will also spend one month working within a high-volume spay and neuter clinic, where you can expect to perform approximately 80–100 spay and neuter procedures. Interns will also typically have one to two dedicated surgery days each month.

The schedule consists of 15 twelve-hour shifts per month across daytime, swing, and overnight shifts, with approximately five overnight shifts each month. The internship is open to new graduates as well as veterinarians looking to develop their experience within an emergency medicine environment. Mentorship is a key part of the program, with each intern assigned a dedicated mentor. Cases are reviewed with a doctor before discharge, and there is always someone available to provide advice, answer questions, and support clinical decision-making.

Practice Details
The hospital operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides full-service veterinary care including wellness, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and emergency medicine. Interns have access to extensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including CT, high-flow oxygen, digital radiography, ultrasound, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, and a fully stocked pharmacy.

Team
The hospital has a large and experienced team of 24 DVMs alongside an excellent support team who work collaboratively with the doctors to provide high-quality patient care. As part of a locally and family-owned group with sister locations, the hospital benefits from a wider veterinary community while maintaining a strong emphasis on its people and culture. The support team plays an integral role within the hospital, providing the clinical support required in a busy emergency environment. Mental health and wellbeing are also an important part of the wider hospital culture, with doctors given access to support and a platform to prioritise their wellbeing alongside their clinical development.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
