Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead its 24-hour emergency facility in Turlock, California. This leadership role involves managing the clinical team, upholding the highest standards of veterinary medicine, and overseeing operational performance alongside hospital leadership. The Medical Director will also provide hands-on emergency care as part of their clinical duties.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates 24/7, offering around-the-clock emergency care. The Medical Director role is full-time and will include both administrative responsibilities and clinical shifts within this schedule.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position is open to experienced veterinarians and combines leadership, management, and clinical responsibilities. The Medical Director will mentor associate veterinarians, promote a collaborative team culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support financial and operational performance. Clinical duties involve emergency care, diagnostics, and treatment planning within a high-volume trauma environment.

Practice Details
The hospital spans 8,500 sq ft and is equipped with a Snyder oxygen unit, digital and portable x-ray, ultrasound, rigid endoscope, two fully equipped operating rooms, five exam rooms, a skills lab and training classroom, and a remodeled in-house IDEXX lab. Services include 24/7 emergency care, diagnostics and imaging, and boarding for cats and dogs. The hospital has been serving the Central Valley since 1998 and maintains a high standard of care for pets across Stanislaus and Merced counties.

Team
The team consists of three DVMs supported by a dedicated 24-hour support staff. The environment encourages collaboration, daily rounds, and shared case management to deliver compassionate, high-quality medicine.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
