Job Description

Introduction
This GP and urgent care hospital in Westminster, Colorado is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its growing team. Currently home to two veterinarians, including a Lead Partner Veterinarian, the practice opened just under two years ago and has continued to build its presence within the local community. The hospital combines general practice with dedicated urgent care, giving doctors the opportunity to build long-term client relationships while also managing more varied and time-sensitive cases that sit between routine GP and emergency medicine.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Friday and Saturday from 8:00am to 8:00pm, and Sunday from 9:00am to 7:00pm. Dedicated urgent care hours run Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, and Sunday from 9:00am to 7:00pm. This provides a combination of general practice and urgent care coverage without overnight working.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll manage a balanced caseload across preventative medicine, general practice, dentistry, surgery and urgent care. The hospital is particularly interested in an experienced veterinarian who is confident with surgery and dentistry, enjoys a busy and varied caseload and is comfortable working with greater clinical autonomy. An interest in exotic medicine would be welcomed, with scope for an incoming doctor to help develop this area of the practice, although it is not essential. Urgent care provides exposure to more complex and time-sensitive presentations while maintaining sustainable hours without the overnight schedule associated with traditional emergency medicine.

Practice Details
The hospital currently has two veterinarians, including its Lead Partner Veterinarian, supported by a wider clinical and support team. The facility is equipped with ultrasound, therapeutic laser, digital dental radiography, Abaxis analysers, Imagyst and Bovie electrocautery, alongside a large surgical suite and separate private dental suite. The practice operates with a locally led model that gives veterinarians autonomy over how they practise medicine while providing access to additional clinical and professional resources as the hospital continues to grow.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
