Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a hospital located in Westfield, NJ, seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their well-established five-doctor team. This practice has long served the Westfield community with comprehensive veterinary care in a compassionate and collaborative environment. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. This is a full-time position.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be involved in a full range of veterinary services including wellness exams, vaccinations, internal medicine, dental care, and surgery. Surgical services include mass removals, spay/neuter procedures, biopsies, foreign body removals, and dental surgery. The role offers access to mentorship and the opportunity to collaborate with a tenured veterinary team, as well as with visiting specialists in cardiology and critical care. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital is a full-service facility providing wellness care, internal medicine, dental care, senior pet care, puppy and kitten care, and emergency support. Surgical offerings include spaying/neutering, biopsies, exploratory procedures, mass removals, and foreign body surgeries. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental x-rays, ultrasound, ECG/EKG, bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, and an Epoc handheld blood analysis tool. Boarding services are also available. The culture is centered on compassion, mentorship, and collaboration.
Team
The team includes 5 DVMs and a great support staff, many of whom are tenured to the practice. The environment is collaborative and mentoring-focused.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
