Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned mixed animal hospital seeking a full-time Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital sees a diverse caseload consisting of approximately 60% small animal, including cats and dogs, and 40% large animal, including equine, bovine, pigs, goats, sheep and other small ruminants. The successful veterinarian must be comfortable working across the full range of species seen by the hospital.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Mixed Animal Veterinarian will provide a full scope of general practice care across both the small and large animal caseload, with responsibilities including wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery and dentistry. The role also includes ER on-call responsibilities. Doctor hours are open to discussion, and the hospital is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday from 8 AM–6 PM, Tuesday through Thursday from 8 AM–5 PM, Friday from 8 AM–6 PM and Saturday from 8:30 AM–12 PM, with the hospital closed on Sundays. The hospital accepts walk-ins, with vaccine appointments typically scheduled for 15 minutes and sick appointments for 30 minutes. Equipment includes two ultrasound machines, a complete in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, surgical laser, cautery, therapeutic laser, an electric float and EMR. The hospital does not currently have dental X-ray. The facilities include four exam rooms specifically designed by the owner, a surgical suite, meeting room, doctor offices, an in-house pharmacy and two cage rooms, allowing sick and well patients to be kept separate with an isolation unit. Located in the countryside, the hospital benefits from plenty of space, a large parking lot suitable for trailers and a heated four-car garage. The hospital offers a full scope of general practice services, including wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery and dentistry.

The hospital currently has three DVMs and is extremely well supported by its wider support team.

Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
