Job Description
Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The practice provides progressive general practice care exclusively for dogs and cats, with a strong focus on preventative medicine, client education, compassionate communication and long-term relationships. The hospital offers a broad mix of routine and advanced care, allowing veterinarians to build a caseload around their individual clinical strengths and interests.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical and surgical care across a varied small animal caseload. Responsibilities include wellness and preventative medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, pain management, senior care, hospice and end-of-life care, acupuncture, laser therapy, and routine and advanced surgical procedures. Surgical responsibilities may include spay and neuter procedures, soft tissue surgery, mass removals, dental surgery and cystotomy. The veterinarian will also be responsible for developing treatment plans, communicating findings and recommendations clearly with clients, and collaborating closely with the wider hospital team. The opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. New graduates have access to a structured one-year mentorship program, including a dedicated Clinical Mentor, regular mentor meetings, goal-setting and communication development, alongside a five-day Surgical Mentorship Program and two-day Dental Wet Lab. Experienced veterinarians are supported with clinical autonomy, continuing education and opportunities to further develop their individual interests.
Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, remaining closed on Sundays. The practice is AAHA accredited and provides state-of-the-art testing and diagnostic capabilities, including blood and laboratory testing, digital radiography, tonometry and ultrasound. Services include wellness and preventative care, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostics, internal medicine, senior care, pain management, acupuncture, laser therapy, domestic health certificates, hospice and end-of-life care, and routine and advanced surgery. The hospital is equipped to manage the majority of patients’ medical and surgical needs in-house, while veterinarians also have direct access to board-certified specialists within a wider clinical network for consultation on more challenging cases.
Team
The hospital has two DVMs supported by an experienced technical team that assists with diagnostics, anesthesia and surgical monitoring, dentistry, treatments, laboratory work, patient handling and client education. The culture is collaborative and relationship-focused, with an emphasis on teamwork, continued learning, thoughtful case planning and strong client communication. Veterinarians are encouraged to bring their own personality, ideas and clinical interests to the practice, with support available for both professional development and continued growth.
