Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a veterinary clinic in Washington, Illinois, seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian with at least three years of clinical experience. The practice treats a variety of small animals including dogs, cats, birds, and other exotic pets, offering comprehensive care across general medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
Working Hours / Rota
The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with Sunday closed. This position is full-time, providing a structured schedule with no after-hours requirements.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The veterinarian will provide thorough patient care including wellness exams, diagnostics, internal medicine, dental care, surgery, preventive healthcare plans, nutritional counseling, and specialized care for exotic pets such as birds, rabbits, and small mammals. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who values client education, high-quality medicine, and collaboration within a supportive team environment.
Practice Details
The clinic operates from a remodeled, expanded facility and is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital radiography, dental imaging, ultrasound, in-house laboratory testing, and an in-house pharmacy. The practice is AAHA-accredited and emphasizes cat-friendly and Fear-Free handling techniques. Services offered include wellness programs, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, avian and exotic pet care, platelet-rich plasma therapy, pain management, microchipping, and euthanasia.
Team
The hospital has four DVMs and a dedicated support staff. The environment is collaborative and supportive, fostering professional growth, mentorship, and a strong team culture focused on providing exceptional patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
