Introduction
A progressive, independently owned veterinary hospital on O’ahu, Hawaii is seeking an Associate Veterinarian for a planned Spring/Summer 2027 start. Joining an established team of three doctors, you’ll work in a relationship-focused practice caring primarily for dogs and cats, with the opportunity to see exotic species depending on your interests. The hospital combines conventional veterinary medicine with complementary approaches including acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, creating an excellent environment for a veterinarian who values clinical autonomy, personalised care, longer appointments, and the culture of an independently owned practice.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you’ll provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care, managing wellness appointments, sick visits, diagnostics, treatment planning, and routine procedures while developing meaningful relationships with clients. Appointments are typically scheduled in 30-minute blocks, providing time to investigate cases thoroughly and communicate effectively with pet owners. Veterinarians interested in exotic medicine, acupuncture, or Chinese herbal therapies can incorporate these areas into their caseload, while mentorship is available for doctors looking to develop additional skills. Full-time associates typically work four 10-hour shifts per week, consisting of three weekdays and one weekend day, with no on-call responsibilities.

Practice Details
The hospital offers a modern clinical environment with four examination rooms, a dedicated dental surgery area, ultrasound, digital and dental radiography, in-house IDEXX diagnostics, and fully paperless medical records. Its approach combines high-quality conventional medicine with holistic treatment options where appropriate, giving veterinarians the freedom to develop individualised treatment plans. The diverse caseload also provides opportunities to pursue interests across medicine, surgery, dentistry, exotic animal care, and integrative medicine.

You’ll join a close-knit team of three veterinarians supported by skilled veterinary technicians and support professionals who place a strong emphasis on respect, communication, and learning from one another. The culture is centred around the Hawaiian concept of ohana, with colleagues working collaboratively to create a welcoming environment for patients, clients, and one another. Candidate Requirements 

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
